In spite of the commitments manifested by Sebastián Piñera on the subject, in both his government program as well as in the speech he gave to the NationalCongress as President, the progress made in the fulfillment of said commitments as well as the obligations acquired by the Chilean government through treaties and other international human rights instruments that it has signed, are insufficient. We have observed that the Chilean government has not adopted the necessary measures to implement the recommendations that the international community has formulated on human rights issues
